FRPA January 24th Panel Discussion: Federal Building Security and the GSA Leasing Process
The Federal real estate portfolio supports a range of mission functions and activities that present significant security challenges. Some facilities are open to the public while others are closed and secured. The range of buildings includes general-use office buildings and special-use facilities including courthouses, laboratories, and structures that may house critical equipment, systems, networks, and functions. Security measures affect not only the daily operations of the Federal government but also play a large role in determining how well Federal facilities act as good neighbors.
The January program will focus on Federal Buildings Security and the challenges in protecting Federal employees and the general public. The panel discussion will explore the evolving threat landscape and how the Federal government is strengthening and fortifying building security profiles. The session also will examine the issue of buildings security in GSA leasing process and identify opportunities for process improvement.
