EventsMay 24th Panel Discussion on Historic Preservation of Federal BuildingsHelp celebrate National Historic Preservation Month on May 24 with a lunchtime FRPA Panel on Historic Preservation of federal buildings at the offices of Holland & Knight at 800 17th Street NW. Federal historic preservation requirements apply to approximately one third of GSA’s 1500 owned buildings. Buildings that the government declares surplus and disposes of are also subject to historic preservation requirements. We are switching things up by serving lunch after the session. Check-in begins at 11:30. The panel will begin at 12 noon and will be followed by lunch from 1pm to 1:30pm. FRPA events are considered off-the-record and are not for attribution. The venue for this in-person event requires the completion of a COVID-19 screening questionnaire to be completed the day of the event prior to arrival. The venue also requires visitors to be fully vaccinated, have had no COVID-19 symptoms for the past 10 days, have not tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days, and have not been exposed to someone who has COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms in the past 10 days. Masks are required to enter the facility. FRPA will email confirmed attendees with additional details 2 days prior to the event. This event has been structured with the intent that it complies with Congressional and Executive Branch ethics rules regarding Widely Attended Events and Gatherings.
Please note that during all FRPA events speakers, panelists, audience members, and all other participants are participating in their individual capacity and their comments are for non-attribution. FRPA events incorporate the “Chatham House Rule,” which states that “participants [in FRPA events] are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.” FRPA has adopted this rule to foster free and open discussion.
